When I was in my teens, I thought I’d be… maybe not a mother, but at least a grown up with a job, and an apartment and a “steady life”, whatever that means, at twenty nine. But here I am, spending my very last money on an Eleventh Doctor costume, heading for a drag king workshop. Oh well. I can’t really say that I’m disappointed - not at all - but being a grown up… it’s a very different thing than expected.

:(

… and Gatiss is a sleeping pill, as always. All the steam and splashing water of all the art departments in the world is not enough to cover up for that fact. Last weeks ep showed us how a single set script shall be written - tight and dynamic, high and low - not like some sort of pointless… porridge you need to wade through.

Boring. Next.

Addendum

Hi, I just wanted to make a little appendix to my Idiot Nerd Girl meme post. Although I’m glad that so many shared and appreciated it, I just want to clarify that I was pretty upset when I invented Idiot Nerd Boy. Being in quite an emotional state I just went straight to Photoshop——->Tumblr without really thinking about how the pictures could be interpreted. I just wanted to create a set of photos that in an easy, direct way explained why Idiot Nerd Girl was so very sexist, and looking back I’m not so sure I managed to do that.

I thought that by creating an exact replica of the ING meme with a (cis) boy instead of a (cis) girl, and typical “boyish” nerd topics instead of the “girlish” counterparts, it’d be very obvious that men and women (and their nerdy interests of choice) are treated very differently, both inside and outside the nerd culture. I had no ‘simple’ intentions as “getting back at boys by creating a male counterpart for girls to hate on”, that’s not what it was about, at all. I do understand when I look at the English version - I made a Swedish one as well - that people can see it that way, though, and I should have been a little more careful and divided the memes into different categories as I did in my Swedish article about it.

Ok, this was the short explanation. If anybody by any chance is able to read Swedish (or happen to be close to the TARDIS) I recommend that you have a look at my original Swedish text.

So… this is a banner I drew for a wonderful group concisting of somewhat nerdy girls that I’m part of. It’s cool and liberating to hang out with women only every now and then and I wanted to give us the group photo we deserved BECAUSE GIRLS ARE LE AWESOME.
(Yeah, well, apart from the screwdriver this is not Doctor Who related, sorry about that, just wanted to share.)

Okay I couldn’t really get rid of the thought of this really bad (and somewhat tasteless, I know, sorry about that) but also hilarious pun, so I did a quick sketch of it… Enjoy!

(going too far) pun of the day…

Question: which is the sexiest event in world history?

Answer: Nine/Eleven

Rings of Akhaten!

passing bechdel test + classic sci-fi + sentimental + companion centered + winks at classic who + amazing smith monolouge + very, very nice sets + heartbreaking soundtrack = YEAY

*clapping hands* best of series 7 so far!

(ok it’s kinda sad that passing the bechdel test is a criteria for “yeay” and the doctor is still a bit stalkerish creepy, but you know, we’re talking moffat era here… so still: yeay!)

Eleven and Dalek chillaxin’. Just sayin’.
